Desert Winds Demo Available In Android Market - Only For Qualcomm Devices

One game we have been waiting to play for quite some time after getting a few instances of hands-on demoing is Desert Winds by Southern Interactive. Essentially it is a Tomb Raider style of game for Snapdragon Android devices.

In this mini-game you will get a taste of what the full version of Desert Winds will bring with the full version. Consider it more of a demo than anything. Still you will have a lot of the action that will come with the full version. As far as we know, this 'mini-game' should come with at least three levels to play through.

The gameplay style of this is a mix between Tomb Raider, action gaming and Dragon's Lair reaction-based movements. Graphically the game is pretty solid as well and one thing we did get to experience in one of our hands-on demos was having the game HDMI-out onto a 3D HDTV and playing it wearing 3D glasses which was pretty cool. The full version of Desert Winds is slated for release sometime this Summer. You can download this 'mini-game' off the Android Market for free if you have a newer Snapdragon Android device.

Note : This game won't work for non-Snapdragon devices even if you are using Chainfire 3D.

Soulcraft THD Open Beta For Tegra

Currently available for free on the Android Market and Tegra Zone, this current release is being labeled as an Open Beta to work out any possible bugs that may be still hiding some where in the game before it gets a full official release. SoulCraft THD is a fantasy themed Action-RPG title where Demons, Angles and Humans are battling it out over the future of the world. The problem is Humans are just about to discover the secret to eternal life. This has angered both Angels and Demons who are now fighting with the Humans to make sure they do not find the secret.

SoulCraft THD Features:

• Free2play Action-RPG for Tegra Android (more Android devices and iOS, WP7 & PC coming soon).
• Play in real locations such as Venice, Rome & Hamburg with more locations coming soon.
• Including New York, Tokyo or Washington.

Tweak your Grand Theft Auto 3 Graphics Easily With This App

This new app comes from a developer over at the XDA website and what it does is basically allow you to boost or tweak certain settings pertaining to the graphics without having to manually fiddle with the files. Instead all you do is install this app and turn on/off specific settings to either increase the quality of graphics or tweak them to increase the game's performance. Option you can turn on/off include:

- Shadows: On/Off
- Lighting: On/Off
- Resolution: High/Low
- Rendering Distance: Distance 1 - Distance 18
- Blur: On/Off (may only work on specific devices, most likely Tegra 2/3)

The original settings are backed up in the file located in

sdcard/android/data/com.rockstar.gta3/files/gta3/gta3.gtsettingslauncher.set

so if this app doesn't work on your device for whatever reason or you want to change back to the default settings, just copy that file back to (...)/gta3.set.
